Lingering Whispers
Art Exhibition • Euston, London
06 May – 06 June 2010
…………………………………………………………………………………………………

Dear Cybersexuals,

I have been bashing away at this lovely organ of communication – Polari magazine – for what seems like years now and it has given me the great opportunity to expand my wardrobe of presenter outfits ….oh …..and cover a few stories here and there.

You will therefore be most used to consuming my Brand Identity through the medium of video rather than reading words, hot from my plastic digit …. but as sophisticated multi platform consumers, I know you will adapt quickly – and fear not- I am writing about a video.

It’s an invitation to a fabulous event called Lingering Whispers which is happening at the St Pancras Gallery in central London from the 6th May to the 6th June this year.

Lingering Whispers is best described as a fusion of fashion and fine art. Over 40 international  artists have created works of beauty and hope in response to the economic unpleasantness the world is currently facing.

As fashion is a strong theme in many of the pieces on display, the curator begged me to STAR in the event, and I said yes quickly as I am used to being begged for light relief.

I’m singing a couple of numbers on at the big opening night party on the 6th and also due to appear live throughout the month of May. More details on that soon.

I have also responded to the constant barrage of letters I receive through Polari, requesting worn articles of my clothing and any spare plastic limbs I may have.

I am releasing a Clementine Fashion Doll at the event. Yes! It will be your chance to possess me without any danger of legal repercussions. (You know who you are.)

The Clementine doll will come complete with pose-able limbs, brush-able hair and acid tongue.

For more details on the event go to www.lingering-whispers.com

Enjoy the video!

Sparkly love,

About Polari Magazine

Polari Magazine is an LGBT arts and culture magazine that explores the subculture by looking at what is important to the people who are in it. It’s about the lives we lead, not the lifestyles we’re supposed to lead.

Its content is informed & insightful, and features a diverse range of writers from every section of the community. Its intent is to help LGBT readers learn about their own heritage and to sustain a link between the present and the past.

Polari is designed to nurture the idea of community, whether that be social and political, or artistic and creative. It is your magazine, whether you want to read it, or whether you want to get involved in it, if you're gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans, or queer.

Polari Magazine is all these: it's a gay online magazine; it's a gay and lesbian online magazine; it's an LGBT arts and culture magazine. Ultimately, it is a queer magazine.
