The UK release date of Darren Hayes single ‘Bloodstained Heart’ is announced today.

Darren says about the track:

‘Bloodstained Heart’ is probably one of my favourite songs I have ever written. It is for me the real moment that this album becomes something very special. It’s all in the song I mean I think it’s quite universal. I would hope that this song becomes a reassuring friend for anyone that’s having a hard time. I wrote it about many things, one of them was a family member who was going through some really tough times, and I remember wishing that if I could have taken the bullet I would have. When you love someone so much and you see that they are in pain, all you want to do is just take that pain away from them. There’s a line in the song about the idea that if we’re going to go down, we’re going to go out fighting – and I love that kind of optimistic attitude in the song. You know, even though the character in the song realises that they have probably lost the war they’re going to go out with their dignity and I love that about ‘Bloodstained Heart’.

About Polari Magazine

Polari Magazine is an LGBT arts and culture magazine that explores the subculture by looking at what is important to the people who are in it. It’s about the lives we lead, not the lifestyles we’re supposed to lead.

Its content is informed & insightful, and features a diverse range of writers from every section of the community. Its intent is to help LGBT readers learn about their own heritage and to sustain a link between the present and the past.

Polari is designed to nurture the idea of community, whether that be social and political, or artistic and creative. It is your magazine, whether you want to read it, or whether you want to get involved in it, if you're gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans, or queer.

Polari Magazine is all these: it's a gay online magazine; it's a gay and lesbian online magazine; it's an LGBT arts and culture magazine. Ultimately, it is a queer magazine.
