Villains: Why are US ex-gay Witch Hunters invited to speak in Britain?

15 Aug 2009 / Comments Off / in Heroes & Villains/by Rebel Scum

The unbalanced world of the ex-gay movement and its influence in Britain.

Why, asks Rebel Scum, is the Anglican Church asking witch-hunting bullies from the ludicrously conceived “ex-gay” movement to the UK? These charlatans should be condemned, not invited in for tea and dumplings.

Nicolosi does not need proof. God is on his side, and that there Hippocratic oath is from those darned fag-enabling Greeks, godammit!!! And screw those tree-hugging hippies from The National Association of Social Workers, The American Psychological Association, The American Psychiatric Association, The American Counseling Association, the Royal College of Psychiatrists, and the American Academy of Pediatrics, all of whom oppose Reparative Therapy.

Villains: DC Political lobbies deprive people rights

04 Jul 2009 / Comments Off / in Heroes & Villains/by Rebel Scum

Political lobbyists in Washington, D.C., promote mob rule.

Democracy is a difficult subject, and US lobby groups The National Organization for Marriage and Stand 4 Marriage DC think it means mob rule. They are the latest paranoid church-goers who think that same-sex marriage threatens the decent values of upstanding Americans and … Well, you know the drill.

It seems the citizens are concerned that the legalization of same-sex marriage threatens their freedom as Americans to impose their values on others. Apparently, churches that do not get behind the law are threatened with losing their tax exemption, and some such stuff.

Villains: Scientology and homosexuality

09 May 2009 / Comments Off / in Heroes & Villains/by Rebel Scum

The Scientology movement and its treatment of homosexuality.

Scientology is busy rewriting its history to appeal to a new generation, which almost makes it a Proper Religion, but its murky past is there to read (and ignore?) in L. Ron Hubbard’s questionable tome Dianetics.

Gay Scientologists have since embarked on the work of reinterpretation. This is how you can tell it has become a Proper Religion: a host of followers pick and choose, then ignore the things they don’t think should apply to them.

Villains: Hiding prejudice behind “religious discrimination”

26 Mar 2009 / Comments Off / in Heroes & Villains/by Rebel Scum

Committed Christian who worked in a registry office sues!

Lillian Ladele, former registry office employee in the borough of Islington, and – gasp, horror – Mother of Child Outside Wedlock, claims she believes civil partnerships are wrong because she follows what the bible teaches. Apparently.

The portrayal of Ladele as an innocent victim who simply followed the rule of the Bible is a narrative device that is, in the end, irrelevant. The Daily Mail gets lost in it, failing to make any real analysis of the story to hand, but the issue is simple: a registrar is employed in a secular institution to enact the law of the land.

Villains: American Family Association’s “culture wars”

16 Feb 2009 / Comments Off / in Heroes & Villains/by Rebel Scum

The American Family Association gets in a tizzy about the so-called “culture wars”.

Another home-grown Church-Movement gets out of hand. The American Family Association are now after Pepsi, following its attacks on Ikea, Heinz, and McDonald’s, for “promoting homosexuality”. Whatever that may mean.

There are, according to this document, a lot of scary things these highly organized homos and their dread “agenda” advocate. They want “access to all programs of the Boy Scouts of America”!

Villains: The Hate-Filled Folks at Westboro

03 Dec 2008 / Comments Off / in Heroes & Villains/by Rebel Scum

The Unbalanced World of Westboro Baptist Church.

They “hate” everything, and see homosexuals and their dread “agenda” everywhere. They seem to think they live in a theocracy, not a democracy, and should be challenged wherever they rear their heads. (No pun intended.)

This sort of conflict is never going to be solved by logical argument. There is always one quotation that can be used to nullify another

The Villains Manifesto

03 Dec 2008 / Comments Off / in Heroes & Villains/by Rebel Scum

The Manifesto of Villains.

The objective: to discredit those who actively seek to take legal rights away in the name of prejudice, and to galvanize those who have the courage to stand against them.

The problem of how to secure the rights of the individual in any democratic society is addressed through the rule of law. This is essentially secular in its application.
