A Reader’s Anti-Gay Tirade

05 May 2012 / Comments Off / in Editorial/by Editor

The anti-gay tirade below, posted in response to the article ‘Stop Complaining and Start Thanking Straight People!’ makes for interesting reading at a time when there is a backlash against equal marriage. It reads like a prepared statement that is ready to be posted whenever the author feels that heterosexuality is under threat. And it sums up heterosexual panic.

Paranoid men holding Homo Sex Is Sin sign

The argument, such as it is, turns on pseudo-scientific posturing and ahistorical generalisations. “Homosexual corruption”, whatever that may be, was not responsible for the end of the Greek and Roman empires. That is propaganda, not history.

The author is also obsessed with sex, listing activities that I had to look up. My knowledge has been enriched now that I know what orchiectomy, apotemnophilia and acrotomophilia mean. I’m sure I don’t know anyone who’d be interested in doing them. Most of the acts can be performed by straight as well as same sex partners, it turns out.

The writer is in the end guilty of all the faults that he accuses “militant homosexuals” of committing. This is the voice of the reactionary mind lashing out, wallowing in a paranoid fantasy about what the fight for equal rights is about and providing evidence that there are really twisted people out there.

Here it is:

“How dreadful are the curses which the gay condition has on those who are enslaved to it! Besides the militant frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful Darwinian belief that gays will inherit the earth. The effects are increasingly apparent in many countries. The rise in sexual violence, promiscuity, sexually transmitted diseases, mental instability, suicidal tendencies, drug taking, a terrible threat to the economy, children, marriage and the family exist wherever the followers of the prophets of the Frankfurt School and their evangelists like Alfred Kinsey and Hugh Hefner rule or live.

Apart from Islam, no stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, homosexuality is a militant and proselytising ideology whipped up by the gay liberation fundamentalist movement. This is the product of a thinly veiled rage and hatred of truth, purity, tolerance, equality, righteousness, justice, freedom of speech, freedom of conscience, thought and life itself. No technology, no reasoned debates, no appeal to common sense, or health and safety can stop this cancer eating away at the heart of Western nations. Indeed it is not so much global warming as global queering.

Desperate for identity, and with evangelical hysteria they pump out Stonewellian, LGBTQQIXYZ propaganda. They furiously ferret around the web frantically searching out evidence to prove the existence of a gay gene, or that in fact we are all potentially queer and that it is only a repressed and internalised homophobia that stops us all from enjoying the benefits of fornication, sodomy, paedophilia, pederasty, sadomasochism, exhibitionism, anal-oral sex, rimming, frotteurism, felching, fisting, necrophilia, coprophilia, fetishism, incest, bestiality, zoophilia, hypoxphilia, transvetic fetishism, orchiectomy , apotemnophilia, acrotomophilia, cannibalism and last – but not least – giving the gift of AIDs, HIV and host of other sexually transmitted diseases.

Their narcissism and hypersensitivity is without limits. They scream “homophobia, homophobia, boo, boo” when the slightest criticism, or more likely, a lack of recognition or applause is made towards their strutting cavorting, sweating and grotesque gay pride parades. Whilst the pink dollar has come to dominate government, the film industry, the mass media and every area of life – except the domain of producing the next generation, they still claim that they are an oppressed, victim group on the same level as Jews in the holocaust and blacks during the period of slavery.

One would think that they had already achieved their pink kingdom here on earth, but no! What is that trance induced mantra they repeat? “There is so much more work to do; there is much more to do ” Immersed in their pseudo- scientific, quasi- religious evolutionism they lurch misty eyed and ketamine fuelled towards Never Neverland: an early grave or Sharia- whichever comes first.

Just as ancient Greece and Rome collapsed through homosexual corruption so did the High Renaissance.”

About Polari Magazine

Polari Magazine is an LGBT arts and culture magazine that explores the subculture by looking at what is important to the people who are in it. It’s about the lives we lead, not the lifestyles we’re supposed to lead.

Its content is informed & insightful, and features a diverse range of writers from every section of the community. Its intent is to help LGBT readers learn about their own heritage and to sustain a link between the present and the past.

Polari is designed to nurture the idea of community, whether that be social and political, or artistic and creative. It is your magazine, whether you want to read it, or whether you want to get involved in it, if you're gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans, or queer.

Polari Magazine is all these: it's a gay online magazine; it's a gay and lesbian online magazine; it's an LGBT arts and culture magazine. Ultimately, it is a queer magazine.
