Thousand Loaded Guns • Karin Park

Karin Park has done it again. Not content with her previous sonic assaults on pop music, the year’s coolest pop star has returned with her latest single, ‘Thousand Loaded Guns’. It’s a brilliant slice of electronic pop, and probably the most unashamedly upbeat moment on her gorgeous album Highwire Poetry.

We danced like lunatics to ‘Thousand Loaded Guns’ at her headlining gig at Hoxton Bar And Kitchen on Monday, September 10, and as well as the superb remixes that accompany the song (one which Karin told us thinks is better than the original) there’s also a beautifully shot video to throw into the mix. Following Karin is never dull, from loop peddle obsessed singing pigs to the surprising climax of the new video, we’re loving the ride so far. Put your seat belts on, Karin doesn’t look like she’ll be hitting the brakes anytime soon.

Karin is playing live tonight (Wednesday, 12) at the Square Tower in Portsmouth and tomorrow (Thursday, 13) at the Lousiana in Bristol. If you get a chance to see her live, you should try and make it, you won’t be disappointed and here’s one reason why:

About Polari Magazine

Polari Magazine is an LGBT arts and culture magazine that explores the subculture by looking at what is important to the people who are in it. It’s about the lives we lead, not the lifestyles we’re supposed to lead.

Its content is informed & insightful, and features a diverse range of writers from every section of the community. Its intent is to help LGBT readers learn about their own heritage and to sustain a link between the present and the past.

Polari is designed to nurture the idea of community, whether that be social and political, or artistic and creative. It is your magazine, whether you want to read it, or whether you want to get involved in it, if you're gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans, or queer.

Polari Magazine is all these: it's a gay online magazine; it's a gay and lesbian online magazine; it's an LGBT arts and culture magazine. Ultimately, it is a queer magazine.
