War on the Buses

The organisation Core Issues Trust is paying for a pro “ex-gay” London bus ad campaign. But will anyone understand it? “Not gay! Post-gay and proud. Get over it.” Excuse me?

“I often explain to people what the term “ex-gay” is supposed to mean and they look at me like I have a screw loose. Which is as it should be.”

It’s about rights not EA Games

Spambots hit AllOut.org

The AllOut.org petition to support EA Games offering gay romance storylines has been hacked. Anti-gay groups accuse EA Games of using spambots.

“The story is about how organisations like the Family Research Council, the Florida Family Association, and the American Decency Association are fighting to take away LGBT rights. Of course EA Games will benefit from people standing up against these groups.”

White Cube Galleries, London • March 10 – May 12, 2012

Hit So Hard

A Documentary about Hole’s drummer, Patty Schemel

This documentary, which Little Bastard lapped up “like a thirsty puppy”, combines behind the scenes footage of when Patty Schemel was with Hole interspersed with up-to-date interview.

“The film is composed of home video footage shot by Patty and other people on her Hi-8 camera, interspersed with interviews with Hole’s other band members, Patty’s family and friends, and a host of talented female drummers. This is the sort of archive footage most music historians would kill for.”

About Polari Magazine

Polari Magazine is an LGBT arts and culture magazine that explores the subculture by looking at what is important to the people who are in it. It’s about the lives we lead, not the lifestyles we’re supposed to lead.

Its content is informed & insightful, and features a diverse range of writers from every section of the community. Its intent is to help LGBT readers learn about their own heritage and to sustain a link between the present and the past.

Polari is designed to nurture the idea of community, whether that be social and political, or artistic and creative. It is your magazine, whether you want to read it, or whether you want to get involved in it, if you're gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans, or queer.

Polari Magazine is all these: it's a gay online magazine; it's a gay and lesbian online magazine; it's an LGBT arts and culture magazine. Ultimately, it is a queer magazine.
